At its height, the tunnel system stretched over 250km. from Saigon to the Cambodian border and was three levels deep. The network included innumerable trap doors, pecially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers and kitchens. Leaving Saigon we drive through pleasant countryside before arriving at Cu Chi. Before entering the tunnels,we watch a short introductory video showing how the tunnels were constructed. We then spend the next hours exploring the maze of tunnels. Also on display are various mantraps and the remains of an American tank as well as numerous bomb craters made by 500 pound bombs dropped by B52 bombers. We then drive back to Ho Chi Minh City arriving at approximately 2pm.

Impressive
After a visit to the war museum yesterday, seeing three Cu Chi Tunnels today was a great addition to our knowledge of the history of Vietnam. Our guide, Typhoon Honey was extremely knowledgeable and able to answer any questions. Typhoon Honey gave us a lot of detail but was also very entertaining and funny. Fun day with an iconic guide
Our tour guide (aka Typhoon Honey) managed to make the trip both knowledgeable and really fun from start to finish! We were a small group of 9 people giving it a personal feel and easy to follow. Typhoon Honey taught us all about the history of the place and showed us bunkers, tunnels and bomb craters, you get to taste tapioca and green tea at the end. Typhoon Honey is an absolute legend, will never forget this tour!!
Great experience
This tour was one of my favourite so far in Vietnam, got to walk through plenty of tunnels as well as shoot an ak47. Everything was included in this trip making it easy to organise and meaning we didn’t have to worry about transport etc. Tommy was a great and funny guide and had loads of information on the area as well as some of his own story’s to share. Would highly recommend to anyone wishing to visit.
Cu Chi Tunnels
Great half day trip out to the Cu Chi tunnels. When we arrived in Ho Chi Minh we wanted to see the tunnels but did not know which tour company to go with. We were advised by a friend who lives in the city to use Deluxe Group Tours and they didn’t disappoint. Small group of 10. Travelled on a comfortable mini bus with A/C and WiFi. Our tour guide, Tycoon Honey, was one of the highlights of the trip. He was very friendly and had great knowledge of Vietnamese history and the Cu Chi area.
